The Excellence in Business Awards took place on Wednesday, May 20th 2015 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston. Central Square Florist was honored as a finalist for small business of the year. The category of small business of the year recognizes a small business in the Cambridge area that demonstrates excellence, professionalism. Leadership and originality in its industry. This business has a tangible record of positive impact on the community. Fewer than 50 employees and at least one year as a Chamber member. The other two finalists were Mmmmaven, LLC located in Central Square, Cambridge and NGIN Workplace located in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Central Square Florist was awarded Cambridge Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year 2015.

We are so honored and humbled to be awarded such a tremendous award. A big thank you goes out to our staff – we couldn’t do it without their hard work and dedication. Each and every one of our staff made an impact on our business receiving this award. From the floral designers, to the customer service staff to our delivery drivers. Everyone makes an impact. Of course, thank you to our customers for trusting us with the flower moments in your life both happy and sad.
Central Square Florist is a fourth generation, family flower shop. The second generation, Sandra and Myron Levine, both recently retired. Now third generation David Levine and his daughter Jackie Levine (fourth generation) manage the store together. Until David’s parent’s retirement the second, third and fourth generations were working in the store together, side-by-side. Jackie gave Central Square Florist’s acceptance speech at the Excellence in Business Awards.
