What is your idea of peace?
For some, peace means a long bath at the end of a hard day. For others, it is an easy relationship with a friend or family member. Still others see peace as a content state of mind. Of course, the peace we all long for is the absence of strife, both in our own country and across the world
World Peace Day was established in order to encourage and inspire individuals to take the ideal of peace into their own hands. The founder hoped that by each person striving for peace and reconciliation in their own lives, that the effect would be contagious and unstoppable.
White is widely considered to be the floral color that represents peace. These graceful white calla lilies are sure to melt away stress. Sending this gift to someone you wish to restore a friendship with is a meaningful way to celebrate World Peace Day; a symbolic laying down of weapons.
Blue is the color of serenity; blue hydrangea combined with white roses and lilies create a striking bouquet reminiscent of a crisp clear sky.
If you want to celebrate World Peace Day in a more global way, founder Don Morris suggests several things. Send origami paper cranes to your government leadership, with a message to encourage them to choose peaceful solutions to crisis.
