Soofa benches are all around Boston and Central Square, Cambridge just got two. The first, in front of Toscanini’s ice cream on Main Street and the second across from directly across from Central Square Florist on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. The bench is situated on the other side of the street from us. It is in front of the Holmes apartment building and Cambridge Savings Bank.

Soofa benches are completely solar-powered and offer two USB ports to charge your phone (you have to bring your own cord). There is a solar panel on the bench in hopes to spark conversation about solar energy.

The idea and creation comes from MIT Media Lab here in Cambridge.
