Here at Central Square Florist we are environmentally friendly. We recycle our compost and paper and in years past updated our overhead lights to more energy efficient bulbs. To continue our going green efforts, this past week, we have updated our cooler lights from fluorescent to energy efficient, LED bulbs!

The main difference between fluorescent and LED bulbs is their energy usage and life span. LED lights can last up to 60,000 hours, whereas fluorescent bulbs last up to about 10,000 hours. Moreover, fluorescent bulbs need to be replaced about 6 times before LED bulbs need to be replaced. When it comes to energy efficiency, LED bulbs are 5 times more energy efficient than fluorescent lights.
