Patriotic Flowers for Veterans Day

Our town doesn’t skimp when it comes to celebrating Veterans Day. The Boston area has a dozen celebrations and ceremonies on the calendar this year, which makes us at Central Square Florist very proud. We’ve been honoring those who served in our U.S. military in one form or another since 1919 when Veterans Day was known as “Armistice Day” and centered on commemorating the end of WWI the year before. As it evolved into what it is today, so did the tributes. We have parades, observances, and even 5Ks devoted to honoring our most important patriots.

But the fanfare can also come in the form of a bouquet of patriotic flowers, something meaningful, respectful, and intended to bring happiness to the worthy recipient.

What’s nice about extending your gratitude to a U.S. military member through flowers is that they last beyond a day. They can be displayed prominently in the home and wordlessly communicate the significance of the occasion beyond the day itself. Our America the Beautiful bouquet does just that. Its scale makes it suitable for putting on a bedside table or dresser or on a dining room table.

Red roses and carnations are the bold, proud players here, while white lilies open out like stars and blue statice brings in the last color of the American flag.

Offer your veteran a personal thank-you in the form of flowers to really make their day special. Designs like the one above acknowledge the poignancy and pride of the occasion, but also feel light and spirited. We at Central Square Florist join you in honoring our veterans this November 11.
