Patriotic Parties for the Fourth

patriotic parties

Of all the summer celebrations, we might love the 4th of July the best. Whether attending a local parade, getting together with friends at a barbecue, or gathering under the stars for a spectacular fireworks display, the day is filled with memories from start to finish. Patriotic parties are a tradition, and the red, white and blue is everywhere you look. This year, make sure your annual event is adorned with flowers that exude the spirit of the day – after all, what party is complete without flowers?

Why Do Other Countries Celebrate July 4th? Seems a little strange that other nations, such as Denmark, England, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden have fireworks to commemorate the American holiday. The reason is that thousands of people emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900s, and these countries hold events to attract tourists, as well as for the benefit of American troops stationed abroad.

patriotic partiesAmerica the Beautiful, shown above, is a perfect choice to send to a veteran to say ‘thank you’, or to adorn your patriotic parties or picnics.  Lush red roses, white lilies and alstroemeria are accented with blue stock flowers and a deep blue glass cube vase. We’ve added an American flag for extra spirit.

Ideas for Patriotic Flower Arrangements:
Red: Carnations, roses, gerbera daisies
White: Carnations, roses, daisies, lilies, hydrangea
Blue: Hydrangea, delphinium, iris

You may also choose to use a colored vase, ribbons or an American flag to create a patriotic ambiance. Try combinations, such as red and white roses in a blue vase, or white and blue hydrangea with a red ribbon. If you would like more ideas for bouquets and arrangements that will match your decor and style, just give us a call or shop our collection here – we deliver throughout Cambridge and Boston.  Everyone at Central Square Florist wishes you a happy, safe, and beautiful 4th of July!
